The cover to my friend's forthcoming graphic novel. I'd post it here but can't. Just going to print next week.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.

England. I'm not sure why, really. Perhaps it is because it is the place where fairy tales of my childhood originated. The English landscape is permeated with legend. I have never been to England, but I yearn to go there. It is a feeling akin to homesickness. Note: I believe that my ancestors originated in England, but I don't think that is the reason. Could be, though. Perhaps some ancestral pull to the homeland. I have always felt this way about England for as long as I can remember and it gets stronger the older I get.

I don't think I have ever felt "old," although I do sometimes miss my unfettered youth. By and large, I look forward to my "Golden Years," although I am not an any particular hurry to get there.

I believed that things would always go on as they were. That my parents would always be together and that I would always be free to do the things I wanted most to do.

Memories of a glorious weekend. Saturday I played golf with both my sons and my father, something that had never happened before. This was a rich family experience in and of itself, but in addition, I played the best golf of my life. I am still awed at some of the shots I actually made. My youngest son (age 10), also shot his personal best. The 91 degree weather was tempered by a light breeze, so nobody seemed to be bothered by the heat.
Sunday afternoon, my son and I harvested our over-abundant habanero plants and made home-made hot sauce and a huge bowl of habanero-garlic salsa, which we plan on enjoying and distributing to friends. So today is another Monday, but I still have the glow from the weekend.
